Designnobis takes 1st place with 'Pet-Tree' in Other Category. After getting two awards from IDA 2010, Pet-Tree has now a total of three awards. Winning prize every each year, this is the 6th Green Dot Award that goes to Dr.Gürsu. Pet-Tree is a multi-layered vertical eco-planting system with re-used PETs.

A new lightweight and futuristic concept boat for everyday people like you and me , the Volitan has gone green using solid sails, wind and solar energy. See the YouTube video of the Volitan here. Her name comes from a word meaning "flying fish" and it suits her well. The Volitan's systems are controlled and optimized by a networked computer. Wind and solar energy are stored while sailing--giving you enough power to stay through the day and night. “Volitan” is a new lightweight and futuristic concept boat for circumnavigating the rivers and seas, using solid-sails and only wind power and solar energy.Her name comes from “flying fish” and she is a new symbol of raising awareness about sustainable use of resources on the sea.

Volitan will be one of the newest profile solar-powered sailing boats in the world, as well as one of the greenest. Her systems are controlled and optimized by a computer network. Whilst sailing, wind and solar energy is harnessed and stored in the boat’s batteries, allowing her to be propelled day and night.

Dynamic stability is a key to wing design and is affected by various weather conditions (wind and sun), whether simultaneously or singularly. The boat’s wings move automatically to track the sun for optimal solar collection, and to track the wind for optimal sail power. In extreme wind situations, they fold up against the boat. She is engineered to operate in 60 knots of wind with 300% margin of safety.

Floating wings (moving panels with DC motors) on the sides of the boat were designed to fore and support the moving solar wings performance and overall stability. The motors on both sides of the boat are placed in such a way that navigation performance is maximized. The vessel can be easily “u-turned” by using the two DC motors with backward and forward action so as to turn around a point. When docking and well sailing conditions the floating wings can be easily retracted. The rotational “stabilizer fin “on the side of the floating wings serve to balance the main body in extreme conditions.

Designnobis gathered as a team during the university. The leadership of Hakan Gürsu and the participation of his three successful students from different eras and levels created the amateur spirit of Designnobis.
Designnobis Ltd. officially founded in the summer of 2006 serves as a research and development company in product design, genuine architectural and visualization services. We present an enormous success in both domestic and international arena since that time. We keep on reaching our targets and further goals with an increasing acceleration. All we know is company’s success comes first.
Most of our designs are serious supporters of functional and user friendly design. During the time we got these design concepts a little bit further and began to design functional, user friendly and representative products in terms of emotion. We tried not to make them figurative but evoke something in people’s minds whom they should identify the design with something in their life. We believe that, the success of a design depends on how you can handle the hidden ties between the product and user, like design and emotion. The most of our company’s products depend on this philosophy.

Designnobis ekibi ve onun amatör ruhu, Hakan Gürsu’nun liderliğinde ve üç başarılı öğrencisinin katkılarıyla üniversite yıllarında oluştu. 2006’nın haziran ayında resmi olarak kurulan Designnobis Ltd. iş dünyasına hızlı bir giriş yaptı. Firma, ürün tasarımı; mimari ve görselleştirme alanlarında hizmet vermektedir. Kurulduğundan bu yana geçen kısa sürede birçok yerel ve uluslararası başarıya imza atmıştır. Hız kesmeden ileri hedeflerine emin adımlarla koşmaktadır.
